On the back of the recent tryouts, LA Galaxy San Diego’s WPSL Women’s Team kitted out for their first game during the week against UCSD. It was a great match against a top notch collegiate program, with Brian McManus and his staff always doing a fantastic job preparing their teams.

During the game, both teams had great opportunities and certainly kept all of the watching fans entertained. Our LA Galaxy San Diego Women’s Team ended up on the right side of the result, narrowly defeating the Tritons 1-0. Coach Courtney and Coach Greg are looking forward to training the girls over the coming weeks and getting them more acquainted with each. Preparations are now in full flow for the first WPSL league game away to Tucson on June 10th.

“It was a great atmosphere on Friday night. It was certainly a special night to watch our first official match as a team against a few of our former players.” said Coach Courtney Drummond. “To watch the reaction of our younger players watching the game was amazing. It will certainly be a fun team to watch, there’s a lot of talent, it’s very exciting.”
